Organic Dyes for Decorating Paper
Wild saffron, Japenese indigo, madder lake root and other organic dyes will be explored in this class as we decorate paper using a variety of techniques. We will also explore organic dyes available from your own garden or local grocery store. Learn how to start with plants, minerals and insects (yes, insects!) and create rich dyes in much the same way it has been done for more than a thousand years. The basics of color theory and the color wheel will be covered.

The second day of class will be spent will create beautiful patterns using batik, stamping and a few unconventional methods as well as add organic mica powders for subtle sparkle. We will put our pages together in a lovely but simple book. This is a 2 day workshop designed
