Throughout the ages man has felt a need to reach back to God in worship. One can see, as far back as the Dead Sea Scrolls, examples of calligraphy as a form of devotional practice. From as far back as the 7th century examples of illumination exist, always in context with prayer. Indeed, there are hundreds of illuminated prayer books in museums and private collections, including the Vatican, that can be seen throughout the world. To this day they continue to inspire and stand as examples of devotion. A portion of the proceeds from this print goes to Charity.
